Museums at Night at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery

The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery is joining the Europe-wide “Museums at Night” festival from 13-15 May 2011, when hundreds of museums and galleries open their doors for evening events.

The weekend starts on Friday afternoon with This Really Happened, an installation-based performance by the Dark Lights Company, created by students from the School of Performance and Cultural Industries. Bringing into question issues of reality, truth and deception, the performance weaves storytelling, poetry and drama into an exciting, interactive journey inspired by the Gallery's Virtually Real exhibition.

The festival continues on Saturday 14 May with The Dark Scavengers, exploring the Visions of the Future: The Art of Science Fiction exhibition armed only with a torch. There are prizes for the scavengers who answer the most questions on their scavenger sheets. Suitable for ages 14+
