Leeds voted Union of the Year by disabled students

Leeds University Union (LUU) has won the Higher Education Union of the Year award at the NUS Disabled Students Campaign Conference.

The award was given in recognition of the extensive work carried out to improve facilities and awareness of disabled students by the Disabilities Society and LUU's Equality and Diversity officer Marcus Crawley.

Robyn Brockie, president of the Disabilities Society at the University, said: "It is such fantastic news! The entire exec team have worked exhaustively with us this year and it's great that the hard work has been rewarded."

During the Conference, Robyn was also elected to the role of Women's Officer on the national committee of the NUS Disabled Students Campaign.
