Preparing for 2012 – Open meetings

The future of the University and how we maintain academic excellence to 2012 and beyond, will be the focus of three meetings held by the Vice-Chancellor Michael Arthur and members of the senior team.

The 'Preparing for 2012' meetings will give all colleagues the chance to ask members of the senior team about the University's preparations for 2012 and to share their ideas and suggestions about what else might be done.

The first of the three meetings took place on 17 March, with Professor Michael Arthur, Finance Director Jane Madeley and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Staff Professor Stephen Scott.  It was well-attended and a number of interesting issues were raised, including ideas about how higher student expectations will be met, the potential effect on student numbers of changes to immigration rules, and the future of taught postgraduate courses.

The dates, times and locations for the next two meetings are:

24 March, 11:30 - 13:30, Electrical Engineering Agilent LT (1.52) - Professor Michael Arthur with University Secretary Roger Gair, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Education Vivien Jones and Finance Director Jane Madeley

25 March, 09:00 - 11:00, Electrical Engineering Agilent LT (1.52) - Professor Michael Arthur with Human Resources Director Matthew Knight and Marketing Director Martin Holmes

Places are limited so please register your interest, including which meeting you hope to attend, by emailing  openmeetings@leeds.ac.uk
