Unipol Student Homes - lunchtime event
Unipol Student Homes is holding a lunchtime event on Thursday 17 March to give an update on the services they offer and how they can help students look for accommodation in the private rented sector.
Unipol is a charity, established in 1975 in Leeds, to help students find the best housing they can, to drive up standards and to be a beacon of good practice for other housing suppliers. Unipol now provides services throughout the country but our base and our own housing are still centred on Leeds and we have a special relationship with the colleges and universities and the students' unions (from whom our trustees are drawn) here. Unipol is dedicated to promoting high quality student accommodation that's affordable. We aim to do this by:
- giving students straight forward information that allows them to make well-informed choices about where they want to live and who to rent from
- championing best practice and high standards
- providing housing ourselves that lives up to the expectations of Unipol as a professional and caring charity.
Unipol's operations are not for profit, which means no profit is taken from our operations and all monies received are invested back into the organisation in the form of services for students and tenants.
The event will be in the Board Room, Unipol Student Homes, 155/157 Woodhouse Lane. Soup, a roll and drinks will be available from 12.15pm until the end of the session. Please feel free to bring other food.
There will be a series of short presentations about Unipol's services and house hunting for properties available to let from 1 July 2011. These will take place between 12.40-13.20 and staff will be available until 14.00 to answer any further questions.
The presentations will be:
An overview of Unipol - the Accommodation Bureau Unipol Code and how to check a landlord is accredited Unipol Training Unipol properties; accompanied viewings; tenancy support, single students looking for accommodation, family properties, who to contact if you have hard to house students.
House hunting 2011 - start date - when is the lettings year; statistics of where we currently are; Unipol website for mobile phones; Leeds University Union/Unipol Bureau.
What we do in the bureau- demo of an advert and search; where students live - type of house and location; help and advice for students looking for a house including house hunting events and support for Year Abroad students.
