Dr Morgan Feely

We are sorry to have to let members know of the death, on 8 February 2011, of Dr Morgan Feely, former Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology and Honorary Consultant Physician at the LGI.

Dr Feely single-handedly transformed therapeutics and pharmacology teaching while remaining active in research such as drug compliance which made a real difference to patients. Working closely with colleagues in Neurology, he later had a major role in the care of patients with epilepsy.

Morgan was a generous man who will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, patients and staff alike.

The funeral service will take place at 2.30pm this Friday, 11th February 2011,  at St Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Church View, Low Street, Sherburn-in-Elmet, LS25 6HZ, followed by burial at South Milford Cemetery at 3.30pm.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Macmillan Cancer Support. Messages of condolence or cheques made out to Macmillan Cancer Support may also be left with Dr Oliver Corrado's secretary, Debbie Barnes, Medicine for the Elderly, Level 8, Gledhow Wing, St James's University Hospital, who will convey these to the family.

Dr Feely is survived by his wife, Mary, and a daughter and two sons.

In memory of Dr Feely, the flag will be flown at half-mast on the Parkinson Building tomorrow.
