HEFCE consultation on public information about higher education

All staff are invited to contribute to the University’s response to a consultation by HEFCE on public information about higher education.

The consultation concerns proposals to provide a set of publicly available information to enable prospective students to choose the university that is best for them, by:

  • giving prospective students useful information about higher education courses and the student experience (in the form of a Key Information Set - 'KIS')
  • improving accessibility to the information that higher education institutions publish about their courses and which is used for quality assurance
  • developing the National Student Survey.

The outcome of the consultation will be published in Summer 2011, with a planned deadline of the start of the 2012/2013 academic year for each university to publish its Key Information Set (KIS) in order to inform the decisions of entrants for 2013.

To contribute to the University's response, please address the specific questions in the consultation document (as set out in Annex A to that document), which you can read here.
