Leeds gains recognition for researcher development

The University been awarded an 'HR Excellence in Research' badge by the European Commission in recognition of its commitment to ensuring good working conditions and career development for researchers.

The EC initiative aims to encourage a step-change in the way that universities across Europe recruit, manage and develop researchers.

In the UK, institutions can demonstrate their alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment through their implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, which was launched in 2008.

More information can be found on the Vitae Programme website, on the University's Staff and Departmental Development Unit website or by contacting Dr Odette Dewhurst at l.o.dewhurst@adm.leeds.ac.uk.
