Alumni honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours
Several of our alumni were honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List last week.
- Kay Mellor (BA Drama, Bretton Hall, 1983), the screenwriter and dramatist, is made an OBE for her services to drama.
- Patricia Langham (BA English and Russian, 1972; MEd, 1987), headmistress at Wakefield Girls' High School, receives a CBE for her services to local and national education.
- Margaret Faull (PhD Archaeology, 1979), Director of the National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield, becomes an OBE for services to industrial heritage.
