New Year Honours

Angus John Robertson, Principal Fellow in Clinical Illustration, Leeds Dental Institute has been awarded an MBE for services to healthcare.

Angus has been a practising clinical photographer for more than 36 years, and has specialised in dental photography since he joined the University in 1985. 

He has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) and the profession. He served as Honorary Secretary for more than 17 years before becoming Chairman in 2007, and was made a Fellow in 2001 and an Honorary Fellow in 2009.

Angus' dedicated contribution to the medical illustration profession was recognised in 1993, when IMI awarded him its most prestigious award, the Norman K Harrison Gold Medal. He has also been a Director of the Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Illustration Practitioners since 1991 and was elected Chairman of the National Board of Registration of Medical Illustrators in 1996 and in 2007.
