38 Leeds for Life student projects funded

The Leeds for Life Foundation has awarded funding to 38 student-led projects which will help students to develop their skills, broaden their life experience and benefit others.

With generous funding from the Alumni Annual Fund, the Santander Group and the University's Expeditions and Travel Bursaries fund, the Foundation supports projects across four themes:

  • Personal development and benefiting others
  • Development of a better understanding of Spanish-speaking countries
  • Travel abroad
  • Travel writing

Projects from students in 15 schools, will operate in 16 countries and include such challenging aims as building schools in Uganda, documenting the lives of street children in India, organising a theatre festival in San Francisco and running activities weekends for disadvantaged teenagers in Leeds.
