Making an impact with your Doctoral research

SDDU is pleased to offer three new courses for postgraduate research students on Making an Impact with Your Doctoral Research:

  • Science, Engineering and Health: Tues 26 October 2010 (10.00-12.00) and Thurs 10 February 2011 (10.00-12.00)
  • Social Sciences: Fri 10 December 2010 (14:00-16:00) and Thurs 14 April 2011 (10.00-12.00)
  • Arts and Humanities: Wed 3 November 2010 (10.00-12.00) and Wed 2 March 2011 (10.00-12.00).

The course, which has been developed in consultation with faculty EKT Directors, aims to enable participants to explore the possible beneficiaries of their research, to discuss the mechanisms for realising impact and to consider the routes to dissemination to non academic audiences.

With input from academic staff from the relevant faculties and based around a Research Council Knowledge Exchange (KE) call, it will explore what is meant by impact and will include an interactive exercise to draft an impact summary and 'Pathway to Impact' statement. Information about PGR schemes which support KE will be included.
