Opera North's Liberty season

From the House of the Dead and Carmen are part of Opera North's Liberty season.  The Howard Assembly Room presents, in association with the University, a series of events exploring the rich and dangerous theme of Liberty.

Film: The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser

Werner Herzog's Palme d'Or winning film on the legend of Kaspar Hauser.

Kafka Fragments
Saturday 4 June at 7.45 pm
Scotland's leading contemporary music group performs György Kurtág's masterpiece based on Kafka's letters and diary entries.

The Passion of Joan of Arc
Thursday 9 June at 7.45 pm
A rare chance to experience Carl Theodor Dreyer's 1928 classic silent film with the score performed live by the Orchestra of Opera North.
