For Staff

How can you tell if you need an MMR jab?

  • If you are not fully protected against measles, mumps, and rubella, and you were born after 1969, you should be vaccinated with MMR.
  • If you have never had the MMR vaccine, you need two doses of vaccine to ensure that you are fully protected. There should be an interval of at least four weeks between doses. Adults can have the vaccine at any age.
  • It is quite safe to have extra doses of MMR, so if there is any doubt, it is better to have an extra dose than to risk not being fully protected.

For more information, read the MMR vaccine leaflet from the Health Protection Agency.
