USS pension scheme review

The USS Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) has accepted the package of pension scheme proposals put forward by the employers. These proposals now form the recommendation from the JNC that will be considered by the USS Trustee Board at its meeting on 22 July.

IT Shop closing

As part of the University's economies exercise, the IT Shop will close on 30 July 2010. To buy IT goods for faculties or services in the future we recommend you use Science Warehouse.  Software for personal and student purchases will be available from the University's online store (http://store.leeds.ac.uk/) from Autumn 2010.

Facilities Management Directorate

The new Facilities Management Directorate, led by Dennis Hopper, will bring together estate services, residential and commercial services (RCS) and sport and physical activity (SPA) with effect from 1 August. Day-to-day contacts for these services are unchanged. More information about the new directorate will be available on Campusweb shortly.

From pulpit to ballot box:  election to the General Synod

An election is soon to take place to the lower house of the convocation of York of the Church of England's general synod. The University has been asked to provide information about qualified electors. Staff Christmas party
