National Student Survey results

The results of the National Student Survey 2011 have now been published, and they show that 86% of our final year students are satisfied with their experience at Leeds - up from 82% last year.

Staff Festival: Friday 9 September 3pm to 6.30pm

If you fancy yourself as a marvellous mixologist, enter the cocktail competition by Wednesday 31 August. Are you a domestic god or goddess? The cake competition could be for you. Bring your camera on the day to take the perfect shot and enter the photography competition. Enjoy live performances, craft stalls, delicious food and drink, traditional fairground games, book swap, a kids' zone, sports activities and more.

New procedure for eye tests

All staff, not just display screen equipment (DSE) users, are now entitled to a free eye test every two years with University Vision and can claim £50 towards the cost of frames and lenses. Some terms and conditions apply.

Graduate portal launches at the end of August

The University portal is being extended to recent graduates, so that they can continue to access services such as Leeds for Life and Careers, plus information from the Alumni & Development Office. When graduates' accounts change to alumni accounts at the end of August, they will see the new content.

Changes to student education titles

At the last meeting of the Taught Student Education Board it was agreed to update the titles used in relation to Student Education. This decision was subsequently endorsed by Senate.

From 1 August 2011 the following changes came into effect:

Pro-Deans for Learning and Teaching became Pro-Deans for Student Education Faculty Learning and Teaching Committees became Faculty Taught Student Education Committees Directors of Learning and Teaching became Directors of Student Education School Learning and Teaching Committees became School Taught Student Education Committees
