Clarendon Way & Ring Road closure

Road restrictions will be put in place on Clarendon Way from 17 June for 12 weeks. The Inner Ring Road will also be closed on several dates over summer.

The Clarendon Road closure is due to refurbishment of the Inner Ring Road tunnel by Leeds City Council which runs beneath Clarendon Way. The attached plan shows the small section of road which will be closed to through traffic. It will still be possible for vehicles to enter both ends of Clarendon Way, but there is no through route. There is no restriction on access for pedestrians.

It will be possible to access University Buildings and car parks on Clarendon Way by vehicle via Hyde Street (off Clarendon Road). Buses that usually run along Clarendon Way will be diverted.

Ring road disruptions

Maintenance to the Inner Ring Road is ongoing and will be closed on the following dates:

  • 17/18/19 July
  • 14/15/16 August

One side of the road will be closed, with the other side operating in both directions.
