We are currently in need of female participants to take part in a new research study designed to investigate how a new milk-based drink (consumed between breakfast and lunch) might affect your mood, mental alertness and eating/drinking habits for the rest of the day and the following day.

To take part you must be:

• Female aged 30-55 years old
• Overweight with a body mass index (BMI) >25.0 and < 30.0 kg/m2 (measured at screening)
• A non-smoker in general good health, with no known food allergies/intolerances
• A good sleeper (not a night shift worker)
• Pre-menopausal
• Not currently dieting with no more than a 3kg weight fluctuation in the previous six weeks
• Not pregnant or planning a pregnancy within the next three months

What will you be required to do?

You will be required to visit the Human Appetite Research Unit in the School of Psychology on four occasions - once for brief screening visit (up to 1 hour) and then for three test days from 8.45am to 1.30pm.

We will provide you with a dinner meal to consume at home on the evening before each test day. On each test day, we will provide you with breakfast and lunch in the research unit and a cool bag containing a selection of foods to take home and consume from for the rest of the day. On each test day you will also be required to consume a mid-morning milk-based drink and complete some questionnaires about your mood, mental alertness, and hunger. We will also ask you to complete a food diary on the following day and to complete an end of day questionnaire.

You will receive an honorarium of £60 (taxable) upon completion of study, to compensate you for the time commitments required for the research.

The Human Appetite Research Unit is operating with strict COVID-19 safety procedures in place and you will be in a room on your own throughout each test morning.
