The aMigO study funded by NIHR RfPB aims to explore the effects of peer mentoring on longer term self-management amongst people with osteoarthritis.
Hey Amigos! Why not take up a rewarding volunteering opportunity to become a peer mentor? Get involved with the Mentoring In Osteoarthritis (aMIgO) Study.
We are seeking volunteers aged 50+ who have hip or knee osteoarthritis, who would like to train to become peer mentors and help older people better self-manage their own osteoarthritis by following an individually tailored support programme over 8 x 1 hour weekly sessions.
What we can offer you: Peer mentors will receive dedicated support, specialist training and a comprehensive resource pack. All travel expenses will be reimbursed and a token payment offered for each completed support session.
What we are looking for: We need people who want to be involved in research; who can attend our training; and who are willing to offer their time, knowledge and support skills to Leeds based people with osteoarthritis for 1-2 hours a week over 8 consecutive weeks.
Training dates: Friday 1st February 2019 and Monday 4th February 2019
This is a great opportunity to get involved in a rewarding programme.
