Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine

The MUSCLE study Novel Magnetic Resonance Imaging and UltraSound CLinical Evaluation of muscle pathology is seeking participants.

Participants, especially those over 50 years of age, with no arthritis and no muscle symptoms, are invited for an MRI and ultrasound scan of their leg muscles at Chapel Allerton Hospital.

Participants should not be on statins or steroid (prednisolone) medication, and should not be using regular steroid inhalers. The MRI scan lasts up to 1 hour, and the ultrasound scan is about 30 minutes. There will be a few brief questions about general health, and muscle strength will be assessed.

Please contact Ian Weatherill (study coordinator) if interested, or pass this detail to anyone who may be interested.
