The Big Switch Off

As part of Earth Hour and to mark the end of Climate Week, we’re asking people to switch off as much University equipment as possible on 25 March, before they leave for the weekend.

"There's currently a high, constant demand for electricity at weekends and late at night," says James Dixon-Gough, Sustainable Development Officer. "This means there are plenty of things that can be turned off over the weekend, and especially during Earth Hour on Saturday 26 March at 8.30pm. We'll be measuring the impact and see how much energy we save."
