Tuition fees vote

The Government's plan to raise tuition fees to a maximum of £9,000 per year has been passed in the House of Commons with a majority of 21.

A second vote relating to the lower cap of £6,000, beyond which universities would be forced to put measures in place to aid poorer students also carried with a majority of 21.
